LH Heated Mirror Inoperative

DEFINITION: The LH heated mirror does not turn ON or OFF.

Were you sent here from the DCM Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Power Door Systems

Check if any mirror DTCs are stored in the LDCM as history. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List/Type .

Are any DTCs stored as history?

--

Go to the Applicable Table

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ON the ignition switch, engine running.
  2. Turn ON the rear window defogger.

Does the rear window defogger function correctly?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Defogger System Check

  1. Turn the ON the ignition switch, engine running.
  2. Turn ON the rear window defogger.
  3. Wait approximately 5 minutes for the LH mirrors to heat.

Does the LH mirror heat for approximately 10 minutes?

--

System OK

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
  2. Disconnect the LH mirror connector C1.
  3. Turn ON the ignition switch, engine running.
  4. Turn ON the rear window defogger.
  5. At the LH mirror connector C1 (harness side), connect a test light between terminals B and E.

Does the test light turn ON for approximately 10 minutes?

Check for an open or short to ground in CKT 267.

Was a problem found and repaired?

--

Go to Step 10

Check for an open in CKT 450.

Was a problem found and repaired?

--

Go to Step 10

Replace the LH mirror assembly. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

--

Go to Step 10

  1. Replace the LDCM. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .
  2. Program the replacement DCM (hardtop only). Refer to Door Control Module Programming/RPO Configuration .

Is the replacement complete?

--

Go to Step 10

  1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
  2. Reconnect or install any connectors or components that were disconnected or removed.
  3. Turn ON the ignition switch.
  4. Clear any DTCs. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Clearing .

Is the repair complete?
