- Install the scan tool.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Select display DTC function with the scan tool.
- Check for any stored BCM, IPC, PCM, or DOOR DTCs related to Rear
Defogger/Heated Mirror operation.
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Remove the scan tool.
| No DTCs
are stored in memory or current status.

Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System

- Start the engine and allow vehicle to idle in Park.
- Press the Rear Defogger switch once and release.
|
- Switch returns to the rest position.
- Rear Window Defogger Indicator turns ON, Rear Defogger Grid becomes
warm, and the Outside Rearview Mirrors turn ON.
- The Rear Window Defogger Indicator, Rear Defogger Grid, and the
Outside Rearview Mirrors turn OFF in approximately 10 minutes.

| Press
the Rear Defogger switch once and release.
|
- Switch returns to the rest position.
- The Rear Window Defogger Indicator, Rear Defogger Grid, and the
Outside Rearview Mirrors remain ON for approximately 5 minutes and then turn
OFF.

- Press the Rear Defogger switch once and release.
- Press the Rear Defogger switch a second time and release.
| The Rear
Window Defogger Indicator, Rear Defogger Grid, and the Outside Rearview Mirrors
remain ON until the Rear Defogger switch is pressed a second time.
