  1. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK or HEAD position.
  2. Open the LH front side door.

The lights-on warning activates to remind the driver that the headlamp switch is in the PARK or HEAD position.

The lights-on warning does not activate to remind the driver that the headlamp switch is in the PARK or HEAD position. Refer to Lights On Chime Inoperative for diagnosis.

  1. Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch.
  2. Open the LH front side door.

The key-in warning activates to remind the driver that the ignition key is in the ignition switch.

The key-in warning does not activate to remind the driver that the ignition key is in the ignition switch. Refer to Key-in-Ignition Chime Inoperative for diagnosis.

  1. Close the LH front side door.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

The fasten seat belt warning activates to remind the driver that the seat belt is unfastened.

The fasten seat belt warning does not activate to remind the driver that the seat belt is unfastened. Refer to Fasten Safety Belt Chime Inoperative for diagnosis.

  1. Before starting the engine, check the engine oil level.
  2. Start the engine and let it reach its normal operating temperature.

The low engine oil pressure warning system operates properly.

  1. The low engine oil pressure warning system does not operate properly.
  2. The low engine oil pressure warning is inoperative with low engine oil pressure. Refer to Engine Oil Pressure Gauge Always Low for diagnosis.
  3. The low engine oil pressure warning is active with normal engine oil pressure. Refer to Engine Oil Pressure Gauge Always Low for diagnosis.

  1. Close the LH front side door.
  2. Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch.
  3. Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.
  4. Open the LH front side door.

The key-in warning does not activate.

    • The key-in-warning activates with the key removed from the ignition and the door closed.
        Replace the gauge cluster. Refer to Gauge Cluster Replacement.
    • The key-in-warning activates with the drivers door closed and the key in the ignition. Refer to Key-in-Ignition Chime Always On .
    • The key-in-warning activates with the key removed from the ignition and the drivers door opened. Refer to Key-in-Ign Chime On w/LF Door Open, Key Not in Ign .

  1. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK or HEAD position.

Locate and repair an open or a high resistance in circuits RM1 and/or RM2. If these circuits are OK, replace the LH front side door jamb switch. Refer to Door Jamb Switch Replacement in Doors.
