Was the Audible Warning System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the engine oil pressure indicator switch.
  2. Connect a fused jumper between terminal 1 of the engine oil pressure indicator switch and a known good ground.

Does the low engine oil pressure warning buzzer operate?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the engine oil pressure indicator switch.

Is the replacement complete?

--

Go to Step 7

  1. Disconnect the gauge cluster connector.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 1 of the engine oil pressure indicator switch connector and terminal 15 of the gauge cluster connector.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 6

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit PU1.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit PU1.
  3. Is the repair complete?

Replace the gauge cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Gage Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the engine oil pressure warning buzzer operates properly.

Does the engine oil pressure warning buzzer operate properly?

  1. Disconnect the engine oil pressure indicator switch.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Is the low engine oil pressure warning active for a long period of time?

Go to Step 4

Replace the engine oil pressure indicator switch.

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Locate a short to ground in circuit PU1.
  2. Repair the short to ground in circuit PU1.
  3. If circuit PU1 is OK, replace the gauge cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Gage Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the engine oil pressure warning buzzer operates properly.
