Was the Audible Warning System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the headlamp switch connector.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 17 of the headlamp switch connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit A5.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit A5.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 11

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 3 of the headlamp switch connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified range?

B+

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit X22.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit X22.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 11

Use the DMM to measure the resistance between 13 of the headlamp switch connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified range?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 8

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit F18.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit F18.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 11

  1. Open the LH front side door.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 18 of the headlamp switch connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 10

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits RM1 and/or RM2.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits RM1 and/or RM2.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the LH front side door jamb switch. Refer to Doors.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the lights-on warning operates properly.

Does the lights-on warning operate properly?
