There are two theft deterrent systems:

•	The vehicle theft deterrent, also known as the Pass-Key III.

•	The content theft deterrent.

Vehicle Theft Deterrent System

This system is standard equipment on all models. This system deters theft by preventing the engine from starting if the wrong ignition key is used. For more information, refer to Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) Description

Content Theft Deterrent System

This system is optional equipment (RPO UA6). The system deters theft by sounding the horn and flashing the exterior lights when the system is armed and a forced entry has occurred. For more information, refer to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Description .
