Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1290526 Size: SH
  1. If replacing the condenser, add refrigerant oil to the condenser. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities for system capacity information.
  2. Install the condenser to the vehicle.
  3. Lower the radiator into the lower insulators.
  4. Install the two radiator upper mounting brackets (1).

  5. Object Number: 1290518 Size: SH
  6. Install the two condenser-to-radiator retaining clips as follows:
  7. 5.1. Slightly pull the condenser assembly forward to clear the radiator mounting lugs.
5.2. Ensure both locking tabs (1) are seated.
  8. Install a new O-ring seal onto the A/C compressor hose. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  9. Install new O-ring seals onto the receiver dehydrator tubes. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  10. Install the A/C receiver dehydrator. Refer to Receiver Dehydrator Replacement .
  11. Install the A/C compressor hose to the condenser.
  12. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  13. Install the A/C compressor hose block fitting nut to the condenser.
  14. Tighten
Tighten the nut to 10.5 N·m (93 lb in).

  15. Install the retaining clip to the A/C compressor line on the left side of the radiator.

  16. Object Number: 1293684 Size: SH
  17. Install the cooling fan and shroud. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement .
  18. Install the upper radiator hose to the radiator.
  19. Position the intake duct then install two intake duct clamps (3).
  20. Connect the IAT sensor electrical connector (2).
  21. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector (1).
  22. Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  23. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  24. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .
