J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1277309  Size: SH
  1. Remove the 5 retainers and the upper shroud (2).
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

  3. Object Number: 1376440  Size: SH
  4. Remove the A/C evaporator tube (3) from the receiver dehydrator (6).
  5. Remove the A/C condenser tube (1) from the receiver dehydrator.
  6. Remove and discard the O-ring seals (2).
  7. Remove the receiver dehydrator mounting bolt (4) from the bracket (5).
  8. Remove the receiver dehydrator from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. If you are replacing the receiver dehydrator, add refrigerant oil to the receiver dehydrator. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities for system capacity information.
  2. Install the new O-ring seals (2) onto the receiver dehydrator tube connections. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  3. Install the receiver dehydrator (6) to the bracket (5).
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the receiver dehydrator mounting bolt (4).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  7. Install the A/C condenser tube (1) to the receiver dehydrator.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  9. Install the A/C evaporator tube (3) to the receiver dehydrator.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  11. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  12. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .

  13. Object Number: 1277309  Size: SH
  14. Install the upper shroud (2) and 5 retainers.
