Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat bottom cushions. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear seat back from the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  3. Remove the shoulder restraint guide bolts/screws, and remove the guide from the seat back.
  4. Remove the rear seat back latch bolts (6), and remove the latch (5) from the seat back.
  5. Remove the rear seat back hinge bolts (7), and remove the hinges (8) from the seat back.
  6. Unfasten the J-hook retainers at the bottom of the rear seat back.
  7. Reach inside rear seat back cover (1), to unfasten the hook and loop retainers, which secure the cover (1) to the pad (2).
  8. Remove the rear seat back cover (1) from the pad (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear seat back cover (1) to the pad (2).
  2. Align the hook and loop retainers.
  3. With firm hand pressure, fasten the hook and loop retainers, securing the rear seat back cover (1) to the pad (2).
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the rear seat back hinge (8) to the seat back, and install the hinge bolts (7).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the rear seat back latch (5) to the seat back, and install the latch bolts (6).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  9. Install the shoulder restraint guide to the seat back, and install the guide bolts/screws.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts or screws to 1.7 N·m (15 lb in).

  11. Install the rear seat back into the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  12. Remove the protective shield.
  13. Install the seat bottom cushions. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
