Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear seat bottom cushions. Refer to
Rear Seat Cushion Replacement
.
- Remove the bolt/screw from the shoulder restraint guide.
- Unlatch the seatback latch from the latch
striker.
- Remove the nuts (1) from the seatback cushion studs.
- Remove the seat studs from the hinge supports by lifting upward
on the outboard side of the cushion (3).
- Place a protective shield over the nearby trim and paint.
- Remove the seatback cushion through the rear liftgate. Do not
damage the cushion.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear seatback cushion.
- Remove the protective shield.
- Install the seat studs into the hinge supports.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Loosely install the nuts (1) to the rear seat studs.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the shoulder restraint guide and the bolt/screw.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt/screw to 1.7 N·m (15 lb in).
