Check the R/CMPT REL fuse for an open.

  1. Make sure the vehicle is in the PARK position.
  2. Using a test light, probe between the R/CMPT REL fuse circuit 840 and B+. Refer to Fuse Block Schematics in Wiring Systems for a terminal location.

Is the test light on?

  1. Leave the test light in the same location.
  2. Disconnect the transaxle range switch connector C1.

Is the test light on?

Repair short to ground in circuit 840.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Make sure the vehicle is in the PARK position.
  2. Disconnect the rear compartment lid lock release actuator connector.
  3. Using a test light, backprobe between the rear compartment lid lock release actuator connector terminal A and terminal B.
  4. Press the rear compartment lid release switch.

Did the test light turn on?

Using a test light, backprobe between the rear compartment lid lock release actuator connector terminal B and B+.

  1. Using a test light, backprobe between the rear compartment lid release relay connector terminal A2 and ground.
  2. Press the rear compartment lid release switch.

Is the test light on?

  1. Disconnect the rear compartment lid release relay connector.
  2. Using a test light, backprobe the rear compartment lid release relay connector terminal C2 and ground.

  2. Leave the test lamp in the same position.

  1. Disconnect the transaxle range switch connector C1.
  2. Using a test light, frontprobe between the transaxle range switch connector C1 terminal B and ground.

  2. Using a DMM, check the transaxle range switch for continuity between connector C1 terminals B and C.

Is there continuity though the transaxle range switch?

Check for poor connection or open in circuit 840 between the transaxle range switch connector C1 terminal B and the underhood accessory wiring junction block connector C1 terminal F1.

Is there an open or a poor connection in circuit 840?

Repair poor connection or open in circuit 275 between the transaxle range switch connector C1 terminal C and the underhood accessory wiring junction block connector C1 terminal F9.
