1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
2. Place the gear selector in the PARK position.
3. Set the automatic day-night mirror switch to the ON position.
4. Cover the ambient light sensor on the windshield side using a dark cloth.
5. Shine an incandescent light on the headlamp sensor on the mirror side.

The inside rear view mirror and the left outside mirror gradually darken.

Place the gear selector in the REVERSE position.

The inside rear view mirror and the left outside mirror gradually lighten to a clear state.

Remove the cloth and the light.

The inside rear view mirror and the left outside mirror gradually lighten to a clear state.
