Did you perform the Automatic Day-Night Mirror System Check?

  1. Disconnect the inside rear view mirror connector.
  2. Disconnect the left outside power mirror connector.
  3. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) in order to measure the resistance between the inside rear view mirror connector terminal 4 and the left outside power mirror connector C3 terminal A (without memory mirrors) or connector C2 terminal E (with memory mirrors).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 3

Use the J 39200 DMM in order to measure the resistance from the inside rear view mirror connector terminal 5 to the left outside power mirror connector C3 terminal B (without memory mirrors) or connector C2 terminal F (with memory mirrors).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

Use the J 39200 DMM in order to measure the resistance from the automatic day-night mirror connector terminal 4 to terminal 5.

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 5

Replace the left outside power mirror. Refer to Mirror Face Replacement - Outside Electrochromatic in Doors.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 1690 (GRY or GRY/BLK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 1691 (PNK or PNK/BLK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the short between CKT 1690 (GRY or GRY/BLK) and CKT 1691 (PNK or PNK/BLK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
