Removal Procedure
- Remove the sunroof glass panel. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement .
- Remove the sunroof glass panel seal retainer screws (1) from the seal retainer.
- Remove the sunroof glass panel seal retainer (2) from the sunroof glass panel.
- Remove the sunroof glass panel sealing strip (3) from the sunroof glass panel.
Set the sunroof glass panel upside down on a protected cover.
| • | When replacing the sealing-strip, remove the adhesive from glass panel and retainer using 3M™ adhesive remover P/N 8984 or equivalent. |
| • | Clean the area with a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water on a dampened cloth. |
Installation Procedure
- Apply trim adhesive 3M™ P/N 08011 to the sunroof glass panel sealing strip.
- Install the sunroof glass panel sealing strip (3) to the sunroof glass panel.
- Install the sunroof glass panel seal retainer (2) to the sunroof glass panel.
- Install the sunroof glass panel seal retainer screws (1) to the sunroof glass panel.
- Install the sunroof glass panel. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement .
- Inspect the alignment at all for corners to ensure the sealing of the sunroof glass panel to roof. Refer to Sunroof Window Height and Opening Fit Adjustment .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the sunroof glass panel seal retainer screws to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
