- Install the wiper motor (4)
to the wiper transmission (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the wiper
motor bracket bolts (5) to the wiper transmission.
Tighten
Tighten the wiper motor bracket bolts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Install the transmission lower link (3) to the wiper transmission.
- Install the crank arm (6).
- Install the crank arm nut (7).
Tighten
Tighten the crank arm nut to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).
- Install the wiper transmission
with the wiper motor.
- Install the wiper transmission screws.
Tighten
Tighten the wiper transmission screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Install the upper link (1)
to the wiper transmission.
- Connect the wiring harness connector to the wiper motor.
- Attach the knock sensor and the fuel injection harness to the
engine lift bracket.
- Install the wiper support bracket screws to the air inlet grille.
- Install the wiper support bracket screws.
Tighten
Tighten the wiper support bracket screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Install the power brake vacuum booster hose. Refer to
Vacuum Brake Booster Check Valve and/or Hose Replacement
in
Hydraulic Brakes.
- Install the air inlet grilles. Refer to
Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
- Close the hood.
