Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the hood sealing weatherstrip from the air inlet grille panels. Refer to Hood Rear Seal Replacement .
  3. Remove the windshield wiper arms and blades. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.

  4. Object Number: 161469  Size: SH
  5. Remove the air inlet grille panel twist-type screws across the top of the air inlet grille panel.

  6. Object Number: 161471  Size: SH
  7. Remove the air inlet grille panel screw located on the left side by the fender.
  8. Remove the air inlet grille panels.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air inlet grille panels.

  2. Object Number: 161471  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the air inlet grille panel screw on the left side by the fender.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the air inlet grille panel screw until it is fully seated.

  5. Install the air inlet grille panel twist-type screws across the top of the air inlet grille panel.
  6. Install the windshield wiper arms and blades. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  7. Install the hood sealing weatherstrip to the air inlet grille panels. Refer to Hood Rear Seal Replacement .
  8. Close the hood.
