Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  4. Remove the lower oil pan. Refer to Lower Oil Pan Replacement .
  5. Remove the upper oil pan. Refer to Upper Oil Pan Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 159475  Size: SH
  7. Remove the oil baffle bolts.
  8. Remove the oil baffle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 159475  Size: SH
  1. Install the oil baffle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the oil baffle bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the oil baffle bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Install the upper oil pan. Refer to Upper Oil Pan Replacement .
  6. Install the lower oil pan. Refer to Lower Oil Pan Replacement .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Fill the crankcase with engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  9. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
