Removal Procedure
- Remove the seat. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
- Remove the inner adjuster attaching bolts (1).
- Disconnect the cable ends (4) from the inner adjuster (2).
Important: If a shipping bar connects the 2 adjusters, remove the adjusters at the
same time.
- Remove the inner adjuster (2).
- Remove the seat belt from the inner adjuster. Refer to
Seat Belt Replacement - Driver or Passenger
in Seat Belts.
- Disconnect the wiring harness (3).
- Remove the outer adjuster attaching bolts (1).
- Disconnect the cables (4) from the outer adjuster (2).
- Remove the motor support attaching nut.
- Remove the motor assembly from the adjuster.
Installation Procedure
- Install the motor assembly to the adjuster.
- Install the motor support attaching nut.
- Connect the cables to the outer adjuster (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the outer adjuster attaching bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (17 lb ft).
- Connect the wiring harness (3).
- Install the seat belt to the inner adjuster. Refer to
Seat Belt Replacement - Driver or Passenger
in Seat Belts.
- Connect the cables (4) to the inner
adjuster (2).
- Install the bolts (1) to the inner adjuster (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (17 lb ft).
- Install the seat. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
- If the vehicle is equipped with memory seats, calibrate the seat. Refer
to
Memory Seat Calibration
.
