Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 287847  Size: SH
  3. Remove the inner adjuster attaching bolts (1).
  4. Disconnect the cable ends (4) from the inner adjuster (2).
  5. Important: If a shipping bar connects the 2 adjusters, remove the adjusters at the same time.

  6. Remove the inner adjuster (2).
  7. Remove the seat belt from the inner adjuster. Refer to Seat Belt Replacement - Driver or Passenger in Seat Belts.

  9. Disconnect the wiring harness (3).
  10. Remove the outer adjuster attaching bolts (1).
  11. Disconnect the cables (4) from the outer adjuster (2).
  12. Remove the motor support attaching nut.
  13. Remove the motor assembly from the adjuster.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the motor assembly to the adjuster.
  2. Install the motor support attaching nut.

  3. Object Number: 287846  Size: SH
  4. Connect the cables to the outer adjuster (2).
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the outer adjuster attaching bolts (1).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (17 lb ft).

  8. Connect the wiring harness (3).
  9. Install the seat belt to the inner adjuster. Refer to Seat Belt Replacement - Driver or Passenger in Seat Belts.

  10. Object Number: 287847  Size: SH
  11. Connect the cables (4) to the inner adjuster (2).
  12. Install the bolts (1) to the inner adjuster (2).
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (17 lb ft).

  14. Install the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
  15. If the vehicle is equipped with memory seats, calibrate the seat. Refer to Memory Seat Calibration .
