Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement Buick

Removal Procedure

  1. Move the seat to the full-forward position.
  2. Remove the shoulder belt guide loop fasteners.
  3. Remove the shoulder belt guide loop.
  4. Remove the rear seat support cover fasteners.
  5. Remove the covers.

  7. Remove the 2 rear bolts that secure the seat to the floor pan.

  8. Object Number: 287825  Size: LH
  9. Move the seat rearward.
  10. Remove the front support covers (1).

  11. Object Number: 287828  Size: SH
  12. Tilt the seat forward.

  13. Object Number: 287831  Size: SH
  14. Move the rear of the front track cover down.
  15. Slide the seat forward.
  16. Unsnap the seat.

  17. Object Number: 287832  Size: SH
  18. Tilt the seat forward.
  19. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1).
  20. Disconnect the pneumatic hose (2), as equipped.
  21. Remove the seat, with the aid from an assistant.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 287832  Size: SH

    Important: Prior to installing the seat, verify that the area where the hooks engage is not deformed or raised. If the sheet metal is deformed, flatten the raised sheet metal using an appropriate device, such as a ball peen hammer.

  1. Position the seat in order to align the hooks in the slots.
  2. Tilt the seat forward.
  3. Connect the electrical connectors (1).
  4. Connect the pneumatic hose (2), as equipped.

  6. Tilt the seat forward.
  7. Snap the track cover down into position.

  8. Install the rear support covers (3).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Install the rear adjuster cover prior to securing the seat with the bolt. Ensure that the adjuster tongues are under the track.

  10. Install the 2 rear bolts in order to secure the seat to the floor pan.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  12. Install the shoulder belt guide loop.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the shoulder belt guide loop fasteners to 2.0 N·m (18 lb in).

Removal Procedure

  1. Move the seat to the full-forward position.

  2. Object Number: 287828  Size: SH
  3. Remove the 2 rear bolts that secure the seat to the floor pan.

  4. Object Number: 287825  Size: LH
  5. Remove the rear support covers (3).
  6. Move the seat rearward.

  7. Object Number: 287828  Size: SH
  8. Tilt the seat forward.

  9. Object Number: 287831  Size: SH
  10. Move the rear of the front track cover down.
  11. Slide the seat forward.
  12. Unsnap the trim cover.

  13. Object Number: 287832  Size: SH
  14. Tilt the seat forward.
  15. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1).
  16. Disconnect the pneumatic hose (2), as equipped.
  17. Remove the seat, with aid from an assistant.
