Was the Wiper/Washer System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect wiper/washer switch connector C202.
  2. Set the wiper switch to DELAY.
  3. Measure the resistance through the wiper/washer switch from terminal B2 to terminal B4 with a DMM set to the Ohms scale.
  4. Move the wiper switch through the entire delay range, one notch at a time.

Does the measurement vary within the specified range?

39 kohms-680 kohms

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Reconnect the wiper/washer switch connector C202.
  2. Disconnect the connector from the wiper motor.
  3. Turn the ignition to ON.
  4. Set the wiper switch to HI.
  5. Measure the voltage from the wiper motor connector, terminal H, to ground using a DMM.

Is the measurement within the specified values?

10.5-15 V

  2. Set the wiper switch to HI.

Are the wipers operating?

Set the wiper switch to the middle AUTO DELAY position.

Do the wipers operate in pulse mode (one wipe every 1 to 22 seconds)?

Rotate the wiper switch to the next highter sensitivity level (towards LO).

Does an instant wipe occur when increasing the sensitivity?

  1. Turn the wiper switch to the highest sensitivity position (closest to LO).
  2. Rotate the wiper switch to the 2nd highest sensitivity position (one detent away from LO).

Does an instant wipe occur when moving the wiper switch from the maximum sensitivity position (closest to LO) to the 2nd highest sensitivity position?

Replace the Rainsense module. Refer to Outside Moisture Sensor Replacement .

  1. Disconnect the connector from the Rainsense module.
  2. Turn the ignition ON.
  3. Connect a test light between Rainsense module connector (harness side) terminal 7 and terminal 8.

Is the test light on?

Connect a test light between Rainsense module connector (harness side) terminal 8 and ground.

  1. Disconnect the wiper motor connector.
  2. Connect a DMM set to the Ohms scale between wiper motor connector terminal F and Rainsense module connector (harness side) terminal 5.

Is there continuity?
