Makes 🢒 Saturn 🢒 2005 🢒 L300/LW300 🢒 Body 🢒 Doors 🢒 Front Side Door Adjustment

  1. Remove the door lock striker. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Striker Replacement .
  2. For up, down, forward, or rearward adjustment, loosen the hinge to hinge pillar bolts.
  3. For inboard or outboard adjustment, perform the following steps:
    4. 3.1. Remove the front door outer panel. Refer to Front Side Door Outer Panel Replacement .
    3.2. Remove the front door sound insulator. Refer to Front Side Door Insulator Replacement .
    3.3. Loosen the door to hinge nuts and adjust the door as necessary.

  4. If proper door adjustment cannot be obtained, perform the following steps:
    5. 4.1. Remove the front door. Refer to Front Side Door Replacement .
    4.2. Enlarge the outer 2 stud openings closest to the door panel with a drill bit to 13 mm (½ in).
    4.3. Apply primer to the bare metal areas where holes were drilled.
    4.4. Install the front door. Refer to Front Side Door Replacement .
  5. Move the door within the door opening to achieve the best alignment and operation.

    6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Tighten all of the hinge fasteners that were loosened.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the hinge fasteners to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Install the front door sound insulator. Refer to Front Side Door Insulator Replacement .
  8. Install the front door outer panel. Refer to Front Side Door Outer Panel Replacement .
  9. Install the striker to the approximate proper position.
  10. Adjust the door striker. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Striker Adjustment .
  11. Inspect the door weatherstrips for proper fit.
