  1. Remove the door lock striker. Refer to Rear Side Door Lock Striker Replacement .
  2. For up, down, forward, or rearward adjustment, loosen the hinge to hinge pillar bolts.
  3. For inboard or outboard adjustment, perform the following steps:
  4. 3.1. Remove the rear door outer panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Outer Panel Replacement .
    3.2. Remove the rear door sound insulator. Refer to Rear Side Door Insulator Replacement .
    3.3. Loosen the door to hinge nuts and adjust the door as necessary.

  5. If proper door adjustment cannot be obtained, perform the following steps:
  6. 4.1. Remove the rear door. Refer to Rear Door Replacement .
    4.2. Enlarge the outer 2 stud openings closest to the door panel with a drill bit to 13 mm (½ in).
    4.3. Apply primer to the bare metal areas where holes were drilled.
    4.4. Install the rear door. Refer to Rear Door Replacement .
  7. Move the door within the door opening to achieve the best alignment and operation.
  8. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  9. Tighten all of the hinge fasteners that were loosened.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the hinge fasteners to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  11. Install the rear door sound insulator. Refer to Rear Side Door Insulator Replacement .
  12. Install the rear door outer panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Outer Panel Replacement .
  13. Install the striker to the approximate proper position.
  14. Adjust the door striker. Refer to Rear Side Door Lock Striker Adjustment .
  15. Inspect the door weatherstrips for proper fit.
