DEFINITION: This table diagnoses the 115-volt outlet inoperative.

  1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  2. Press the 115-volt power outlet switch to the ON position and release.

Did the 115-volt power outlet lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 2

With the ignition ON and the power outlet switch ON, test the 115-volt power outlet for AC voltage.

Did you measure 115 volts AC?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 5

With the ignition ON and the power outlet switch ON, connect a test lamp between the feed circuit at the 115-volt power outlet switch and ground.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Test the ground circuit of the 115-volt power outlet switch for continuity. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 24

With the ignition ON and the power outlet switch ON, connect a test lamp between the INV relay coil feed circuit at the 115-volt power outlet switch and ground.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

With the ignition ON and the power outlet switch ON, connect a test lamp between the accessory AC/DC power control module supply voltage at the module and ground.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Test the ground circuit of the accessory AC/DC power control module for continuity. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 24

With the ignition ON and the power outlet switch ON, test the output of the accessory AC/DC power control module for AC voltage.

Did you measure 115 volts AC?

Go to Step 17

With the ignition ON and the power outlet switch ON, connect a test lamp between the INV relay coil feed circuit at the INV relay and ground.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 10

With the ignition ON and the power outlet switch ON, connect a test lamp between the INV relay switch side feed circuit and ground.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

With the ignition ON and the power outlet switch ON, connect a test lamp between the INV relay switch side load circuit and ground.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Test the ground circuit of the 115-volt power outlet switch for continuity. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the 115-volt power outlet switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Repair the open in the 115-volt power outlet switch feed circuit between the 115-volt power outlet switch and the GAUGE fuse. Refer to Wiring Repairs .
