Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 2043227 Size: SH
  1. Remove the two bolts (2).
  2. Remove the two upper radiator supports (1).
  3. Remove the hood primary latch. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Replacement.

    4. Object Number: 2043228 Size: SH
  4. Separate the water by pass hose (2) from the two clamps (1).
  5. Remove the horn. Refer to Horn Replacement.

    6. Object Number: 2043229 Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolt (1) from the hood lock support (2).

    7. Object Number: 2043231 Size: SH
  7. Remove the four bolts (1).
  8. Remove the upper tie bar (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2043231 Size: SH
  1. Install the upper tie bar (2).

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the four bolts (1) and tighten to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).

    3. Object Number: 2043229 Size: SH
  3. Install the bolt (1) to the hood lock support (2) and tighten to 7.0 N·m (62 lb in).
  4. Install the horn. Refer to Horn Replacement.

    5. Object Number: 2043228 Size: SH
  5. Install the water by pass hose (2) to the two clamps (1).

    6. Object Number: 2043227 Size: SH
  6. Install the hood primary latch. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Replacement.
  7. Install the two upper radiator supports (1).
  8. Install the two upper radiator support bolts (2) and tighten to to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).
