Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 2022959 Size: SH
  1. Remove the wheelhousing. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .

    2. Note: The wheel speed sensor is serviceable only as an assembly. Do NOT attempt to service the sensor harness pigtail.

  2. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).

  3. Remove the bolt (1) retaining the wheel speed sensor pigtail harness.

    4. Object Number: 2022968 Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolt (1) and separate the brake hose.

    5. Object Number: 2022972 Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolt (1) and the sensor clamp from the strut.

    6. Object Number: 2022977 Size: SH
  6. Remove the sensor harness clamp (1).

    7. Object Number: 2022981 Size: SH
  7. Remove the wheel speed sensor retaining bolt (1) and remove the wheel speed sensor (2) from the steering knuckle.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 819502 Size: SH
  1. Install the wheel speed sensor (2) to the steering knuckle. Secure with 1 bolt.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the front wheel speed sensor bolt to 8.5 N·m (76 lb in).

  2. Install the sensor harness clamp (1).

    3. Object Number: 2022972 Size: SH
  3. Install the sensor clamp to the strut (1).

    4. Object Number: 2022968 Size: SH
  4. Position the brake hose. Secure with bolt (1).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the sensor clamp bolt to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).


    Object Number: 2022961 Size: SH
  5. Position the wheel speed sensor pigtail harness. Secure with bolt (1).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the harness bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  6. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).
  7. Install the wheelhousing. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
  8. Perform Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle .
