Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the rear brake caliper bracket with the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  4. Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.

  5. Object Number: 339834  Size: MH
  6. Remove the park brake actuator (7). Refer to Parking Brake Actuator Replacement .
  7. Remove the park brake actuator retainer (5) to the park brake actuator.
  8. Remove the rear wheel hub and bearing (4). Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement in Rear Suspension.
  9. Remove the park brake shoe (3) with the park brake support plate from the knuckle.
  10. Remove the park brake shoe and lining (3) from the park brake support plate.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 339834  Size: MH
  1. Install the park brake shoe and lining (3) to the park brake support plate.
  2. Install the park brake shoe with the park brake support plate to the knuckle.
  3. Install the rear wheel hub and bearing (4). Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement in Rear Suspension.
  4. Install the park brake actuator retainer (5) from the park brake actuator.
  5. Install the park brake actuator (7). Refer to Parking Brake Actuator Replacement .
  6. Install the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  7. Install the rear brake caliper bracket with the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  8. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Adjust the park brake cable. Refer to Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment .
  10. Lower the vehicle.
