🢒 Parking Brake Actuator Replacement
Removal Procedure
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
Remove the rear brake caliper bracket with the brake caliper. Refer to
Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement
in Disc Brakes.
Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to
Rear Brake Rotor Replacement
in Disc Brakes.
Loosen the park brake cable equalizer nut.
Remove the park brake cable from the park brake actuator lever.
Remove the park brake cable bracket. Refer to
Park Brake Cable Mounting Bracket Replacement
.
Remove the rear wheel hub and bearing. Refer to
Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement
in Rear Suspension.
Remove the park brake actuator.
Installation Procedure
Ensure that the park brake actuator lever (2) is correctly oriented in the park brake actuator (10).
Install the park brake actuator.
Install the rear wheel hub and bearing. Refer to
Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement
in Rear Suspension.
Adjust the park brake shoe and lining. Refer to
Parking Brake Shoe Adjustment
.
Install the park brake cable bracket (9). Refer to
Park Brake Cable Mounting Bracket Replacement
.
Install the park brake cable to the park brake actuator lever.
Install the rear brake rotor. Refer to
Rear Brake Rotor Replacement
in Disc Brakes.
Install the rear brake caliper bracket with the brake caliper. Refer to
Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement
in Disc Brakes.
Install the tire and wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
Tighten the park brake cable equalizer nut until both park brake cable ends contact their respective park brake actuator levers.
Adjust the park brake cable. Refer to
Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment
.
Lower the vehicle.
