Tools Required

J 45400 (09940-71430) Front Spring Compressor

1. Remove the strut assembly. Refer to Strut Assembly Replacement .

Caution: Refer to Suspension Spring Caution in the Preface section.

2. Compress the front spring using J 45400  (1).



3. Fix the strut support using the bench vise and remove the strut nut (1).



4. Remove the strut inner support (2).
5. Remove the strut mount assembly (3).
6. Remove the strut mount seat (4).
7. Remove the strut bearing seat (5).
8. Remove the strut bearing (6).
9. Remove the coil spring upper seat (7).
10. Remove the coil spring seat (8).
11. Remove the bumper stopper (1).
12. Remove the coil spring.

1. Install the coil spring to the strut.
2. Install the front bumper stopper (1).
3. Install the coil spring seat (8).
4. Install the coil spring upper seat (7).
5. Install the strut bearing (6).
6. Install the strut bearing seat (5).
7. Install the strut mount seat (4).
8. Install the strut mount assembly (3).
9. Install the strut inner support (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




10. Install the strut nut (1). Fix the strut support using the bench vise.

Tighten
Tighten the strut nut to 50-60 N·m (36-44 lb ft).




11. Inspect the installation of the coil spring (1, 2).
12. Install the strut assembly. Refer to Strut Assembly Replacement .
