Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. For a vehicle with power steering, remove the power steering fluid reservoir (2).
  3. Remove the nuts (1) from the top of the strut assembly on the passenger side.
  4. Remove the top of the strut assembly at the passenger side.

  6. Remove the bolt and the fuse box (1, 3).
  7. Remove the nuts (2) from the top of the strut assembly on the driver side.
  8. Remove the top of the strut assembly at the driver side.
  9. Notice: Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking Notice in the Preface section.

  10. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  11. Remove the wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  12. Remove the ABS front speed sensor electrical wire (3) from the bracket, if applicable.
  13. Disconnect the brake hose from the bracket (1).
  14. Remove the strut bracket bolts (2).
  15. Remove the lower portion of the strut assembly.
  16. Remove the strut bracket assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the strut assembly to the vehicle with the strut assembly-to-strut bracket bolts (1).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the strut assembly-to-strut bracket bolts to 70-90 N·m (52-66 lb ft).

  3. Connect the brake hose to the bracket.
  4. Install the ABS front speed sensor electrical wire to the bracket, if applicable.

  6. Install the wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the nuts at the passenger side (1).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 18-28 N·m (13-21 lb ft).

  10. Install the nuts at the driver side (2).
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 18-28 N·m (13-21 lb ft).

  12. Install the power steering fluid reservoir.
  13. Install the fuse box and bolt.
