Removal Procedure
- Open
the hood.
- For a vehicle with power steering, remove the power steering fluid reservoir (2).
- Remove the nuts (1) from the top of the strut assembly on the passenger
side.
- Remove the top of the strut assembly at the passenger side.
- Remove
the bolt and the fuse box (1, 3).
- Remove the nuts (2) from the top of the strut assembly on the driver
side.
- Remove the top of the strut assembly at the driver side.
Notice: Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking Notice in the Preface section.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the ABS front speed sensor electrical wire (3) from the
bracket, if applicable.
- Disconnect the brake hose from the bracket (1).
- Remove the strut bracket bolts (2).
- Remove the lower portion of the strut assembly.
- Remove the strut bracket assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the strut assembly to the vehicle with the strut assembly-to-strut bracket
bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the strut assembly-to-strut bracket bolts
to 70-90 N·m (52-66 lb ft).
- Connect the brake hose to the bracket.
- Install the ABS front speed sensor electrical wire to the bracket, if
applicable.
- Install
the wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the nuts at the passenger side (1).
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 18-28 N·m
(13-21 lb ft).
- Install the nuts at the driver side (2).
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 18-28 N·m
(13-21 lb ft).
- Install the power steering fluid reservoir.
- Install the fuse box and bolt.
