Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2005 🢒 Grand Prix 🢒 Body 🢒 Seats 🢒 Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Frame Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
  2. Remove the seat trim panel. Refer to Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 865020 Size: SH
  3. Remove the seat cushion trim and pad. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .
  4. Remove the 4 seat pan bolts.
  5. Remove the seat pan

    6. Object Number: 865006 Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolts that secure the seat back frame to the adjuster.

    7. Object Number: 864996 Size: SH
  7. Remove the seat back frame from the adjuster.
  8. Remove the seat back pad. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Pad Replacement .

    9. Object Number: 865008 Size: SH
  9. If equipped, remove the lumbar clips from the seat frame. Remove the lumbar from the seat frame.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 865011 Size: SH
  1. If equipped, position the lumbar on the seat frame. Install the lumbar clips to the seat frame.
  2. Install the seat back pad. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Pad Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 865006 Size: SH
  3. Install the seat back frame to the seat adjuster.

    4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the bolts that secure the frame to the adjuster,

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the seat pan bolts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the seat cushion trim and pad. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .
  7. Install the seat trim panel. Refer to Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement .
  8. Install the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
