Removal Procedure
- Remove the seat belt anchor nut.
- Use a flat-bladed tool to carefully release the retainer from the base of the recliner handle.
- Remove the recliner handle.
- Remove the screws (1) from the front seat trim panel.
- Position the front seat trim panel away from the seat.
- If equipped, disconnect the electrical connectors to the power seat switch (2) and lumbar switch (3).
- Remove the front seat trim panel from the front seat.
Installation Procedure
- Position the front seat trim panel to the front seat.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the power seat switch (2) and lumbar switch (3).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the trim panel screws (1).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Install the retainer to the base of the recliner handle.
- Install the recliner handle.
- Install the seat belt anchor nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).
