Removal Procedure
- Remove the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
- Remove the front door outer belt sealing strip machine screw (1) in the rear position.
- Remove the front door outer belt sealing strip self-tapping screw (3) in the front position.
- Remove the front door outer belt sealing strip (2).
Installation Procedure
- Press the front door outer belt sealing strip (2) into place.
- Install the front door outer belt sealing strip self-tapping screw (3) in the front position.
- Install the front door outer belt sealing strip machine screw (1) in the rear position.
- Install the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Important: Align the strip properly to the door inner panel for screw installation.
Tighten
Tighten the outer belt sealing strip self-tapping screw to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the outer belt sealing strip machine screw to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
