Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement Coupe

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
2. Remove the quarter lower trim. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement .



3. Remove the coat hook from the quarter upper trim by pulling out the retainer using a small, flat-bladed tool.
4. Remove the rear rail lamp. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
5. Open the seat belt guide loop cover.
6. Remove the guide loop nut.
7. Remove the guide loop from the guide adjuster bracket.



8. Remove the quarter upper trim by disengaging the push-in retainers using J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover.

1. Install the quarter upper trim by engaging the push-in retainers.
2. Position the guide loop from the guide adjuster bracket.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the guide loop nut.

Tighten
Tighten the the guide loop nut to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

4. Close the seat belt guide loop cover.



5. Align the coat hook to the hole in the quarter upper trim. Press in the retainer.
6. Install the quarter lower trim. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
7. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
8. Install the rear rail lamp. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.



3. Remove the quarter upper trim by disengaging the push-in retainers using J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover.

1. Install the quarter upper trim by engaging the push-in retainers.
2. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
3. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
