- Close all of the vehicle doors.
- Ensure that the IP dimmer switch is off.
- Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
- Open and close each of the vehicle doors.
Do the courtesy lights turn on with a door open and turn off when all
of the doors are closed?

- Ensure that the IP dimmer switch is off and that all of the vehicle
doors are closed.
- Turn the ignition switch from the RUN position to the OFF position.
- Observe the courtesy lights and remove the key from the ignition
key cylinder.
Do the courtesy lights turn on when you remove the key from the ignition
key cylinder?

- Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
- Lower all of the vehicle windows. Ensure that all of the windows
are completely down.
- Insert the key in the ignition key lock cylinder.
- Leave the ignition switch in the OFF position.
- Open the driver's door.
- Observe the door locks and momentarily press LOCK on the door
lock switch.
- Close the driver's door.
- Open the left rear door.
- Reach through the driver's window opening. Observe the door locks
and momentarily press LOCK on the door lock switch.
- Open the right front door.
- Observe the door locks and momentarily press LOCK on the door
lock switch.
- Close the right front door.
- Open the right rear door.
- Reach through the right front window opening. Observe the door
locks and momentarily press LOCK on the door lock switch.
- Determine if the doors do not lock when the following conditions
exist:
• | You press LOCK on either door lock switch. |
• | The key is in the ignition key lock cylinder. |

- Inspect the BCM connectors for poor terminal contact.
- If the terminal contact is not poor, replace the BCM. Refer to
Body Control Module Replacement
in Body Control System.

- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Reconnect all of the connectors.
- Reinstall any components that you removed.
- Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Remove the MALL PGM fuse.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.
The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type
that is installed on the vehicle.
- Within 1 second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC
position to the OFF position and back to the ACC position. The BCM sounds
any stored DTCs.
