DEFINITION: The lock function and the unlock function do not work through one of the door lock switches. The other door lock switch locks and unlocks the doors.

  1. Disconnect the inoperative door lock switch electrical connector.
  2. Use a test light in order to connect between B+ and the inoperative door lock switch harness connector terminal E.

Does the test light illuminate?

Observe the door locks and connect a 10A fuse jumper between the inoperative door lock switch harness connector terminals A and E.

Do the doors lock?

Observe the door locks and connect a 10A fuse jumper between the inoperative door lock switch harness connector terminals D and E.

Do the doors unlock?

  1. Inspect for poor connection at the inoperative door lock switch.
  2. If the connection is not flawed, replace the inoperative door lock switch.

Repair the poor connection or the open in circuit 350 or circuit 750.

Repair the poor connection or the open in circuit 195.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Reconnect all of the connectors.
  3. Reinstall any components that you removed.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  6. Remove the MALL PGM fuse.
  7. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.
  8. The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle.

  9. Within 1 second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC position to the OFF position and back to the ACC position. The BCM sounds any stored DTCs.
