J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

1. Remove the headlight assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.



3. Remove the fog lamps. Refer to Front Fog Lamp Replacement .
4. UseJ 38778 to remove the front bumper fascia to radiator air baffle push--in retainers.
5. Remove the front bumper fascia to front bumper fascia upper support center bolt.
6. Remove the bolts attaching the front bumper fascia to the front fender liner.
7. Remove the bolt attaching the front bumper fascia to the front fender.
8. UseJ 38778 to remove the front bumper fascia to front bumper fascia upper support push--in retainers .
9. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle.

1. Install the front bumper fascia to the vehicle.
2. Install the front bumper fascia to front bumper fascia upper support push--in retainers.




Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the front bumper fascia to the fender bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the front bumper fascia fender bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

4. Install the front bumper fascia to front fender liner bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the front bumper fascia to front fender liner bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

5. Install the front bumper fascia to front bumper fascia upper support center bolt.

Tighten
Tighten front bumper fascia to front bumper fascia upper support center bolt to 7 N·m (61 lb in).

6. Install the front bumper fascia to front bumper fascia to radiator air baffle push--in retainers.
7. Install the headlight assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
8. Install the fog lamps. Refer to Front Fog Lamp Replacement
9. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
10. Remove any protective tape that may have been applied during the removal procedure.
