Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear compartment sill plate.
Refer to
Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Use a grease pencil to mark the location of the rear compartment lid lock
striker to the rear compartment for its location at installation.
- Remove the rear compartment lid lock striker bolt (1) from the
rear compartment body panel (3).
- Remove the rear compartment lid lock striker (2).
Installation Procedure
- Position the rear compartment lid lock striker (2)
to the rear compartment body panel (3).
- Install the bolt (1) to the rear compartment lid lock striker (2).
- Tighten the bolt (1) part way allowing for the adjustment of the
rear compartment lid lock striker (2). Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment
.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to
Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Close the rear compartment.
