Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the air intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the cooling fan and shroud. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement .
  4. Remove the radiator outlet hose. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement .
  5. Remove the inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement .
  6. Remove the bumper front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement in Bumpers.

  7. Object Number: 1290518  Size: SH
  8. Release the two condenser-to-radiator retaining clips as follows:
  9. 7.1. Press down on the 1st locking tab (1) while lifting on the condenser assembly.
    7.2. Press down on the 2nd locking tab while lifting on the condenser assembly, then slightly pull the condenser assembly forward to clear the radiator mounting lugs.
  10. Disconnect the transmission cooler lines, if equipped. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement in Automatic Transmission.
  11. Remove the radiator as follows:
  12. 9.1. Lift the radiator upwards.
    9.2. Move the radiator rearwards on the left side, then across to the left side to allow the right side to clear the mounting brackets.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the radiator as follows:
  2. 1.1. Move the radiator rearwards on the left side, then across to the left side to allow the right side to clear the mounting brackets.
    1.2. Lower the radiator into the lower insulators.
  3. Connect the transmission cooler lines, if equipped. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement in Automatic Transmission.

  5. Install the two condenser-to-radiator retaining clips as follows:
  6. 3.1. Slightly pull the condenser assembly forward to clear the radiator mounting lugs.
    3.2. Ensure both locking tab (1) are seated.
  7. Install the bumper front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement in Bumpers.
  8. Install the coolant inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement .
  9. Install the coolant outlet hose. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement .
  10. Install the cooling fan and shroud. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement .
  11. Install the air intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  12. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
  14. Important: Watch for a potential overheating condition while the engine is operating with the radiator cap off.

  15. Start and run the engine until the coolant is at operating temperature.
  16. On vehicles with an automatic transmission, check the transmission fluid level.
  17. Tighten any loose connections, as necessary.
