Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the air intake duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling .
- Remove the radiator bypass hose and the coolant reservoir hose from the radiator fan shroud clips.
- Remove the radiator bypass hose to radiator clamp (1) and position the hose aside.
- Remove the coolant reservoir hose (2) to coolant reservoir at the radiator and position aside.
Remove the radiator outlet hose. Refer to
Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement .
- Disconnect the left side cooling fan motor electrical connector (2).
- Disconnect the right side cooling fan motor electrical connector (3).
- Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the water pump housing and position aside.
Important: To avoid damage to the fan motor shaft, do not lift the fan and shroud assembly by the fan rings.
- Push down on the fan shroud locking tab (1), then lift the fan and should assembly upwards to remove.
Installation Procedure
Important: To avoid damage to the fan motor shaft, do not lift the fan and shroud assembly by the fan rings.
- Install the fan and shroud assembly.
- Connect the right side cooling fan motor electrical connector (3).
- Connect the left side cooling fan motor electrical connector (2).
- Connect the radiator inlet hose to the water pump housing.
- Install the radiator outlet hose. Refer to
Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement .
- Install the coolant reservoir hose (2) to coolant reservoir at the radiator.
- Install the radiator bypass hose to radiator clamp (1).
- Install the radiator bypass hose and the coolant reservoir hose to the radiator fan shroud clips.
- Refill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling.
- Install the air intake duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
