Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  2. Remove the exhaust muffler. Refer to Muffler
  3. Remove the rear axle tie rod brace bracket. Refer to Rear Axle Tie Rod in Rear Suspension.

  4. Object Number: 21665  Size: SH
  5. Loosen the clamp from the exhaust pipe to the catalytic converter.
  6. Slide the exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter.
  7. Remove the exhaust pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 21662  Size: SH
  1. Install the exhaust pipe to the vehicle.
  2. Slide the exhaust pipe onto the catalytic converter.

  3. Object Number: 21665  Size: SH
  4. Tighten the clamp from the exhaust pipe to the catalytic converter.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 68 N·m (50 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the rear axle tie rod. Refer to Rear Axle Tie Rod in Rear Suspension.
  7. Install the exhaust muffler. Refer to Muffler
  8. Lower the vehicle.
