J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Do not attempt to repair or alter the head impact energy-absorbing material glued to the headliner or to the garnish trims. If the material is damaged, replace the headliner and/or the garnish trim. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

  1. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  2. Remove the sunroof switch, if equipped. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement in Roof.
  3. Remove the sunroof lace, if equipped.
  4. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  5. Remove the overhead console, if equipped.
  6. Remove the upper center trim panels. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  7. Remove the upper quart trim panels. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  8. Remove the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  9. Remove the left and the right lamps from the roof side rail. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement .

  10. Object Number: 452787  Size: SH
  11. Use J 38778 in order to remove the rear headliner push-in retainers.
  12. Remove the headliner from the roof through the rear of the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the headliner to the roof through the rear of the vehicle.
  2. Push the headliner rearwards in order to lock the headliner into place.

  3. Object Number: 452787  Size: SH
  4. Install the rear headliner push-in retainers.
  5. Install the left and the right lamps to the roof side rail. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement .
  6. Install the upper quarter trim panels. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  7. Install the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  8. Install the upper center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  9. Install the sunroof switch. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement in Roof.
  10. Install the sunroof lace.
  11. Install the overhead console.
  12. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  13. Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
