Removal Procedure
- For
the Aztek, remove the rear roof garnish molding. Refer to
Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement
.
- Remove the rear seat belt guide loop from the rear upper quarter trim
panel. Refer to
Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement
in Seat Belts.
- Remove the bolt from the rear upper quarter trim panel.
- Remove the trim panel from the rear quarter inner panel, by pulling the
panel to release the push-in retainers.
- Remove the trim panel from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Align
the push-in retainers on the rear quarter upper trim panel to the rear quarter inner
panel.
- Install the push-in retainers, applying pressure to secure at all of the
retainers locations.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolt to the rear upper quarter trim panel.
Tighten
Tighten the trim bolt to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the rear seat belt guide loop to the rear upper quarter trim panel.
