Removal Procedure
- Remove the video cassette player. Refer to
Video Cassette Player Replacement
.
- Reach through the video
cassette player opening and remove the two bolts.
- Reach through the video cassette storage opening and remove the
two screws.
- Grasp the center console and slide it towards the rear of the
vehicle.
- Remove the center console from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Loosely install the center console floor bracket to the center
console, using the two screws located in the video cassette storage opening.
1.1. | Make sure the hooked end of the bracket is pointing towards the
bottom of the center console. |
1.2. | The hooked end of the bracket will hook into the floor bracket
when properly installed. |
- Install the center console to the vehicle, making sure it's fully
seated against the H-bracket.
- Grasp the center console and slide to towards the front of the
vehicle making sure the console bracket is hooked onto the floor bracket.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Reach through the
video cassette storage opening and install the two screws.
Tighten
Tighten the video cassette storage screws to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Reach through the video cassette player opening and install the
two bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the video cassette storage bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
