  1. Verify that the transaxle shift selector is in PARK.
  2. Remove key from the ignition switch.
  3. Press the rear compartment lid release switch.

The rear compartment lid releases.

  1. Close the rear compartment lid.
  2. Step firmly on brake pedal.
  3. Start the engine.
  4. With the transaxle shift selector out of the PARK position, press the rear compartment lid release switch.

The rear compartment lid remains in the latched position.
    • Out of adjustment or faulty transaxle range switch.
    • Short to B+ in circuit 275.
    • Faulty rear compartment lid lock release actuator.
