DEFINITION: The CTD system will not ARM or DISARM properly.

Did you perform A Diagnostic System Check - Theft Deterrent?

Go to Step 2

  1. Make sure the rear liftgate/liftglass is closed completely.
  2. Turn on the ignition with the engine OFF.
  3. Observe the Hatch/Gate indicator in the instrument panel cluster (IPC).

Does the Hatch/Gate indicator stay ON?

Go to Rear Hatch/Gate Ajar Indicator Malfunction in Body Rear End

Go to Step 3

  1. Open the driver's window.
  2. Unlock the doors using the power door lock switch or the keyless entry transmitter.
  3. Remove the keys from the ignition.
  4. Open the driver's door.
  5. Observe the SECURITY telltale.

Does the SECURITY telltale flash?

Go to Step 4

Go to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative in Lighting Systems

  1. Lock the vehicle using the power door lock switches or the keyless entry transmitter.
  2. Observe the SECURITY telltale.

Does the SECURITY telltale change from flashing to on steady?

Go to Step 5

  1. Close all of the doors and rear liftgate/liftglass.
  2. Observe the SECURITY telltale.

Does the SECURITY telltale turn off in about 15 seconds?

Go to Step 6

  1. Reach in and manually unlock the driver's door.
  2. Open the driver's door.

Do all of the alarm mode functions activate (headlamps and parking lights flash and horn pulses)?
