Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Open and suitably support the liftgate.
- Remove the luggage compartment rear trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .
- Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the liftgate lower trim panel
- Disconnect the hose nozzle from the liftgate washer.
- Remove the gas support assemblies from the liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement .
- With the aid of another technician, remove the bolts and the liftgate from the hinges.
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
Installation Procedure
- With the aid of another technician, install the bolts and the liftgate to the hinges.
- Install the gas support assemblies to the liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement .
- Connect the hose nozzle to the liftgate washer.
- Install the liftgate lower trim panel.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Install the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
- Install the luggage compartment rear trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .
- Close the liftgate.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
