  1. Disconnect the washer pump connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  3. Connect a J 35616-200 between terminals A and B of washer pump connector (harness side).
  4. Activate the washer switch while observing the J 35616-200 .

Is the test light on?

Check for a poor connection condition at the washer pump connector.

Repair the poor connection condition.

  1. Connect the J 35616-200 between the washer pump connector terminal A (harness side) and ground.
  2. Activate the washer switch while observing J 35616-200 .

Is the test light on?

Replace the wiper motor (internal ground circuit open). Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

  1. Backprobe the wiper motor connector C1, terminal D, to ground using a J 35616-200 .
  2. Activate the washer switch while observing the J 35616-200 .

Is the test light on?

Repair the poor connection condition or open circuit condition in CKT 228.

  1. Backprobe the wiper/washer switch connector C201, terminal E13, to ground using a J 39200 .
  2. Activate the washer switch while observing the J 39200 .

Is the measurement within the specified range?

10.5-15 volts

Check for a poor connection at connectors C201 and C219, or for an open circuit condition in CKT 94.
