Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the wiper arms from the vehicle. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
  2. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  3. Remove the connector from the wiper motor cover.
  4. 3.1. Pull the retainer out of the connector.
    3.2. Disconnect the connector from the wiper motor cover.
  5. Remove three screws and the cover from the wiper motor.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: The cam must be in the position shown and the wiper motor assembly must be in the park position so the drive pin will be in the open area of the cam during installation.

  1. Install the cover onto the wiper motor with three screws.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten three screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  3. Connect the connector to the cover assembly.
  4. Install the retainer into the connector.
  5. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  6. Install the wiper arms onto the vehicle. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
