Is the inoperative mirror the left outside rearview mirror?

1. Disconnect the left outside rearview mirror.
2. Use a test light in order to probe between the left outside rearview mirror connector terminal C and ground.
3. Set the outside mirror select switch to left mirror.
4. Set and hold the outside remote control rearview mirror switch to RIGHT.

Does the test light illuminate?

Use a J 39200 in order to inspect circuit 81 for a poor connection or for an open.

Did you find a poor connection or an open?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair the poor connection or open in circuit 81.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

Replace the left outside remote control rearview mirror switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement or Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

System OK

1. Disconnect the right outside rearview mirror.
2. Use a test light in order to probe between the right outside rearview mirror connector terminal C and ground.
3. Set the outside mirror select switch to right mirror.
4. Set and hold the outside remote control rearview mirror switch to RIGHT.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

1. Replace the mirror motor pack within the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Motor Replacement .
2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Use a J 39200 in order to inspect circuit 881 for a poor connection or for an open.
