Removal Procedure

Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

  1. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  2. Remove the hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement
  3. Remove the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .
  4. Remove the front fender sound insulator. Refer to Front Fender Insulator Replacement .
  5. Remove the rocker finish panel. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement .
  6. Remove the nuts from the front bumper fascia at the fender:
  7. • For the sedan, refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
    • For the coupe, refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .

  8. Remove the bolts from the fender at the door hinge pillar.

  9. Object Number: 363613  Size: SH
  10. Remove the bolts from the fender at the rocker panel.

  11. Object Number: 363624  Size: SH
  12. Remove the bolts from the fender at the front compartment side rail.

  13. Object Number: 293214  Size: SH
  14. Remove the stud from the fender at the front compartment side rail.

  15. Object Number: 363644  Size: SH
  16. Remove the bolts from the fender at the lower engine compartment side rail.
  17. Remove the fender from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fender from the vehicle

  2. Object Number: 363624  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts to the fender at the front compartment side rail.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the front compartment side rail bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the stud to the fender at the front compartment side rail.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the front compartment side rail stud to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  7. Install the bolts to the fender at the rocker panel.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the rocker panel bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  9. Install the bolts to the fender at the door hinge pillar.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the door hinge pillar bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Install the bolts to the fender at the lower engine compartment side rail.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the lower engine compartment bolts to 8 N·m (70 lb in).

  13. Install the nuts to the front bumper fascia at the fender.
  14. • For the sedan, refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
    • For the coupe, refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  15. Install the front fender sound insulator. Refer to Front Fender Insulator Replacement .
  16. Install the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .
  17. Install the hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement .
  18. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  19. Install the rocker finish panel. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement .
  20. Remove the protective tape.
